Move On!

I found this today on Sheri Rose Shepherd's website. I pray it is just what you needed today.

Its time to Move On to your New Life!
Are the mistakes you've made in the past destroying your present? When Jesus knelt before the woman accused of adultery, He wrote something in the sand that set her free from her accusers but it was his forgiveness that set her free to move on and make a fresh start. The Bible is full of real people who made choices to move on...

Move on from insecurity
Queen Esther…had to move on from her identity as a powerless orphan and accept God’s call to be queen. If she had focused on how unqualified she was to reign, she would have missed the opportunity to save the Jewish people and be a part of God’s great eternal plan for His chosen ones.

Move on from your past mistakes
King David…had to move on from his sins of adultery and murder. He cried out to God and received His forgiveness. God is so full of grace that He made something good out of David’s bad choice by giving him and Bathsheba King Solomon once they repented and moved on.

Move on from guilt
The Apostle Peter…had to move on when he failed to stand up for his Savior. Even though he loved Jesus passionately, Peter denied Him not once, not twice, but three times. When we let guilt keep us paralyzed from living out our purpose we are saying by our actions that the cross was not enough to set us free from guilt from our past mistakes.

Praise be to our God, we are a new creation. As far as the east is from the west is how far He has removed our sins from us—and remembers them no more. Do not let the devil whisper lies —let your Lord whisper His truth that you are totally forgiven and a brand New creation in Christ...A Pure Princess of the Lord

Don’t let your past torment you…let it teach you. Leave the past where it belongs…at the cross!

Have you given your past to Jesus? NO MATTER WHAT you are a "pure princess of the Lord". Pure. Washed clean.

If you have questions about what it means to know Jesus, please email me at: Melissa@MelissaTaylor.org. I would be honored to fill you in and share the truth with you. I want you to KNOW you are FREE, FORGIVEN, AMAZINGLY LOVED, AND ADORED, whether you feel like it or not. You can also click the "Got Jesus?" link in the sidebar of this blog for how you can begin a relationship with Christ today!

Love and Blessings,

Melissa

Thank you so much for this post! No matter how far along you are in your walk with God, lies can often be whispered into your ears by the enemy. I know. It happened today. And He reminded me today that He will "make me to walk on my high hills." Habakkuk 3:19b

I am reminded of Peter's resoration by Jesus in John 21. When teaching on restoration, I always remind people that Jesus found it so important (restoration), that it was one of His last acts before His ascension. That should speak volumes to us today!

Remember, Peter was not lost; but Peter had given up his position as a disciple. In Mark 16:7, when the angel appeared to Mary and Mary, he told them to "go, tell His disciples-and Peter...-". Many times we remove ourselves from a God-appointed duty because of our sin or failures. It is not new.

But Jesus (dont you just love that) restored Peter. And He still restores us today. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Let us be about the business of restoration within the church so that those outside the church will want what we have.

One more note, Peter was no more guilty than any other disciple - they all fled. But he bore the guilt deeper. But I am reminded of the scripture "...he who is forgiven little loves little." We must first believe in the restoration of ourselves, then pass it on to others.

I must continually remind myself that I am not relegated to God's hand-me-downs. Why would I think that? Because I have been divorced and am remarried. The unpardonable sin within the christian community. And the details do not matter. That it was "Biblical" does not matter. I feel branded by those who can not even begin to understand - and do not want to. But I press on. God is not finished with me - just as He was not Peter.

I did not intend for this to be so long, but I often feel that many christians no longer attend church because they feel they cannot. That they: cannot serve in church, cannot worship with others, must be relegated to just sitting and listening. I pray that if one person reading this feels this way that they will realize that everyone sitting in church is guilty. Only God's grace sets us all free. And I choose to live in that freedom.

Blessing for your honesty and patience,
Karan

Melissa...this is so good! I need time to really let these truths soak into my heart. They all have hit a cord...especially the "move on from guilt". Like Peter I failed to stand up for my Savior and share more with a friend who was so close to receiving Him, and she took her own life before a decision was made. That haunts me often and I blame myself...although...I know that I am not responsible, yet I often feel guilty...if only I had said this...if only I had pressed harder...if only I had called one more time...

Each one of these "move on's" is grabbing my heart tonight. Thank you for sharing these truths.

In need of Him,
Joy

That was a good post. I can certainly relate to all, insecurity, guilt, and past mistakes (smiles)! It is certainly the Lord. I believe him and not my thoughts. Yesterdays post talked about speaking postive to yourself. The Lords thoughts towards us is good and not evil.

The Lord has summoned us all to something (yeah). Lets us go and leave the cleaning up to him (smile)! I have learned not to take myself so serious and enjoy my relationship with him. I just live! It is a very freeing place!

Esther, David and Peter are some of my favorites when going through. I reallly can relate to them. They encourage me to move forward in God's plan for my life.

Melissa, thank you for sharing this with us today. It was uplifting. Yes, it was just what I needed today (smile)!

Also, thank you Karen (from windstream.net) for your openness and honesty. I enjoyed reading your testimony.
