My Husband is Acting Like My Mother

I kid you not!!!! I recently put some new goals in place. One of them is to exercise first thing in the morning. I can't do much because of my foot (see previous posts if you really want to know), but I can get up, stretch, tone, do weights, and even ride the bike (I just pedal with my heel and not the rest of my foot). Well, today I did not feel like getting up. I mean, I really didn't feel good.

My husband appeared over me at 5 am, "Melissa, it's time to get up." "Let me sleep a little longer please. I don't feel good this morning." (I really didn't) 10 minutes later, all the lights went on, the covers were ripped off of me, and my normally sweet calm husband yelled, "Get up, it's time for you to go! You won't reach your goals by laying on your back all day. Do what I say. Get up!" What did he just say? No he did-n't! He sounds just like my mother waking me up for school ... I'm having flashbacks!

I got up. I went to the gym. Then I came home ... and went right back to bed! Ha! That's right, I did. It felt so good. I thought the workout would perk me up, but I just was not able to get that energy.

I wish I could've stayed in bed all day, but there is work to do. And whose going to do it if I don't. (Now I sound like my mother!)

Seriously, I'm thankful to have a husband so devoted to helping me meet my goals. I asked him to hold me accountable and help me stick to my schedule and he really did.

I wish the day would come when I felt like getting up, exercising, and being productive. At least my husbands knows I really need him:)

Have a great day bloggy friends,

Melissa

Melissa,
I have a husband that will do that very same thing, but only if I ask him to keep me accountable. Good job on doing your exercises.
Keep up the good work.

Your husband kept you accountable - now that's love! Praying your duty will change to delight as you see the effects of your efforts.
Don't give up! I'm cheering for you!
Love,
Joy

I have to tell you that 2 of my children have those "stuck together toes" you showed in your last post. My son has it on one foot and one of my daughters has it on both feet. Every time we had a baby it was the first thing we looked for (well almost the first thing).

Anyway, I am very impressed with your dedication!NOTHING and NO ONE could get me up at 5 am. I did go out and run/walk the dog at 5pm and now I am in "out of shape" pain! It's gonna be a long road!!

Take care~~Kelley

Think of him as your personal trainer! It reminds me of how God works in our lives. He wants us to look like Him and in His love for us, He keeps working on us even when we squirm and sweat! It's not always easy but it is always good! You will thank them both from all the pokes and cover pulling to help you be all you were meant to be! Say Joy three times and get going girl! :} Barbara K.

Let the record show it's 11:52am and my sweet wife is still in bed. I guess I'm a sucker for the whole "I've got the flu" thing.

I think MY husband was Mr. Anonymous in that last comment! Honest though, I really AM sick today.

I left work yesterday, came home and slept for 2 hours. I felt horrible. Went to bed at 8 pm last night and got up at 1pm today. I don't know what hit me. Everyone in the P31 office has been sick over the past 2 weeks and I guess it was my turn. I am feeling a lot better this afternoon though.

I guess Mr. Accountable will be back tomorrow! I'm going to take it easy until then!

Thanks for all the comments...Kelly, my oldest son's toes are stuck together too:)

Love,
Melissa

What a blessing husbands are! I'm so happy my husband took a slight detour so we could visit P31. He's my hero.

Hi Melissa!
A friend just told me today about a great bunion doctor today who supposedly uses a different method for bunion surgery with almost no pain afterwards. The website is http://www.drmoy.com/. I see that some of the sisters that posted messages might need to know about this doctor. Check it out and share it if you want. Blessings!!

Hi Melissa, thank you so much for sharing the devotional. I for the first time got to read it, it was so encouraging. I am blessed with a christian husband, my 2 grown children need prayer, they have been taught from babies all about God, so now I leave the rest up to him. in Jesus sharon
